Valley Park Preschool offers a caring and friendly environment. Children are provided with developmentally appropriate activities that stimulate physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development and help children construct their own knowledge.
The curriculum is based on principles of child development, the develop-mentally appropriate guidelines from the National Association of the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), as well as the individual needs of each child.
Play is the powerful way children learn and the curriculum offers a good balance of social and cognitive learning. The children are encouraged to develop emerging skills in writing, number concepts, patterns, natural sciences, color and shape recognition, and effective problem solving skills. Concepts such as using manners, community responsibility and awareness, and being a friend to others are explored in each classroom.
Special Education Services are provided to all qualifying children.
The Discover Program (Pre-Kindergarten) prepares children for kindergarten within a play-based environment. The Discover program encourages cognitive, social, and language development through an early literacy program, counting, measuring, problem solving, art, music, dramatic play, and group learning activities. (Drink is included.)

The Explore Program is designed to promote self-confidence, self-esteem and to encourage socialization with peers through art projects, singing, stories, sensory and motor activities and lots of time to play. (Drink is included.)

Additional Care
is available for children participating in either the Explore or Discover Programs.
